  • Payment Information – If you make an online donation, we will ask you to provide us with your name, address, email address, phone number and payment information such as your credit card number and expiration date. You may also choose to provide us with additional information such as your connection to Alzheimer's, the motivation of your donation, and your employer.
  • Registration Information – We may provide online registration for our events. When you register for an event, we may collect your Contact Information and other Personal Information you choose to provide to us such as your preferences and connection to Alzheimer's.
  • Message Board Information – We may collect any Personal Information you choose to post on a message board on our website. Please remember that any information you disclose on a message board becomes accessible by the public.

In addition, we may collect Personal Information that you voluntarily provide to us when you submit a survey, request or inquiry or otherwise correspond with us, or link your social media account (e.g., Facebook) to our website. We may also collect your IP address and aggregate web server traffic information such as the number of visitors to our website, length of stay and sources of traffic in order to improve our website and our service to you, along with other usage data detailed below.

How We Use Personal Information?

We use your Personal Information to manage our donation lists and provide and improve our services and outreach. In particular, we use:

  • Contact Information to respond to your questions, comments, requests and inquiries and otherwise correspond with you, including sending you Alzheimer's Association email bulletins or news and other information we think you will find valuable. Please see the Your Choice section below to learn the choices you have related to these communications. We may also track the number of letters sent to members of Congress on behalf of the Alzheimer's Association.
  • Payment Information to process your donations and manage our donation lists. If you choose to provide the name of your employer, we use this information to provide information on how your employer might match your donation to us.
  • Registration Information to plan and organize the event for which you have registered and help us cater the event to you.
  • Message Board Information to understand more about the visitors to our website and their preferences.

We will not use Personal Information for any purpose incompatible with those outlined in this Privacy Policy.

What Personal Information Do We Disclose?

We only share Personal Information with third parties who are bound by terms at least as restrictive as this Privacy Policy and only in the following ways:

  • Communications from Alzheimer's Association Partners. To remove your contact information from mailing lists shared with other organizations, please provide your full name, mailing address and a sentence requesting removal.
  • Alzheimer's Association Postal Mail. To remove your contact information from the Alzheimer's Association postal mailing list, please provide your full name, mailing address and a sentence requesting suppression of your personal information in our files.
  • Social Media Accounts. You may link or unlink your social media account (e.g., Facebook) by visiting the settings in the relevant social media application. To opt out and remove your name from future marketing emails from us, follow the unsubscribe instructions in the message.
